NEWS ALERT

GIGYA BRINGS SOCIAL FEATURES TO ANY SITE

Now Available: Gigya Socialize Gives Site Owners the Option of

Easy Plug & Play Implementation or Full Control through an Open API

PALO ALTO, CA – May 29, 2008 - Gigya, the leading widget and social technologies company, today announced the beta release of Gigya Socialize, a technology that gives website owners the ability to grow both traffic and engagement by adding social features. Gigya Socialize also gives site owners a choice: implement plug and play components or access the Open API for complete control.

From social networks like MySpace and Facebook to niche destinations like Flixster, sites that have made their user experience social have achieved phenomenal growth. With Gigya Socialize, now any site can tap into this growth engine by incorporating popular social features like invitations, sharing, and newsfeed.

“Gigya Social is a natural addition given Gigya’s position as the leading infrastructure for content sharing on the web,” stated Eyal Magen, CEO of Gigya. “Our widget technologies bring content to the social networks and other platforms. Now with Gigya Socialize we are bringing social technologies to the content sites.”

Giving Users Control

Users visiting any site that has added Gigya Socialize features will be able to invite friends to participate, share items of interest, and see what their friends are doing on that site through a newsfeed. Gigya Socialize works for any type of user, allowing them to build friend lists on-the-fly by accessing friends from their webmail contact lists or through social graph APIs.

With its content sharing and tracking technology reaching over 120 million unique widget users worldwide (comScore), Gigya is already helping web users build aggregated friend lists. Gigya is managing over 41 million contacts, making it quick and easy for users to share content with specified friends. Gigya gives users complete control over their friend lists, from managing who their friends are to designating which sites can access their social graph.

A Choice of Tools for Growth

Gigya Socialize helps website owners grow traffic as well as make the site experience more compelling for their audience. The technology not only provides the functionality that enables users to invite their friends to join them, but also delivers the features that encourage them to stay longer, explore further and interact more frequently.

Site owners who wish to do little coding can quickly implement desired features, customizing the look and feel to match their site. Alternatively, with the open API, site developers have direct access, enabling them to connect these features to their existing data and present it in any way they desire.

"The Sims always works to offer the best possible experience for users in our online communities," said Ranah Edelin, Vice President, The Sims Internet Group at EA. "With Gigya Socialize, members of The Sims communities will be able to connect with people inside the community and also invite friends in from other social networks.  The technology also gives users the power to more easily discover new content like movies, games and performances created by people within The Sims communities and then share it with their broader social networks. Gigya Socialize gives us the ability to create an enhanced social experience that integrates seamlessly with our existing user registration and other systems."

Gigya Social is free for everyone and available now.  Please visit: www.gigya.com/socialize to learn more or sign up.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GIGYA LAUNCHES AD NETWORK FOR ACCELERATED WIDGET DISTRIBUTION

Kimberly-Clark, Jive Records, 360i and Avenue A | Razorfish use Ad Network to Rapidly Deliver and Track Hundreds of Thousands of Widgets

PALO ALTO, CA - January 14, 2008 - Gigya, the leading provider of tools for tracking and boosting widget distribution, today announced the public launch of its widget distribution network, which connects advertisers, content providers and social media users, to deliver and track results-driven widget advertising campaigns. Kimberly-Clark, Jive Records, 360i, and Avenue A | Razorfish, who is running multiple campaigns, are some of the charter advertisers achieving thousands of widget installs per day through the Gigya network.

Advertisers find that once they create a widget to promote their brand or product, there are no reliable options for ensuring that their widget is installed by a large and relevant audience over the limited weeks or months of a campaign. Advertisers also lack tools for tracking and measuring the unique interactions and sharing patterns their widgets can generate. According to the recent IBM study “The End of Advertising as We Know It,” advertisers are now demanding more individual-specific and involvement-based measurements, and more than two-thirds of the global advertising industry executives interviewed expect advertising revenue to shift to impact-based models within three years.

The Gigya Widget Advertising & Distribution Network meets these demands today by connecting advertisers with a large audience of active widget and social media users — charging only when someone actively endorses a branded widget by choosing to install it on their profile page, blog or desktop — and by providing visibility into all of the ways individuals are interacting with a widget’s features and functionality.

With its Wildfire technology tracking more than two billion widget impressions per month, and installing hundreds of thousands of widgets per day from more than 400 widget sites to the top social networks and blogs, Gigya is uniquely positioned to now bring its widget distribution expertise to advertisers.

“Our main value proposition is our ability to effectively deliver a user-endorsed ad unit,” states Ben Pashman, Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Gigya, Inc. “Mainstream advertisers from entertainment to CPG companies to retailers can either slap their widgets on a site and cross their fingers or work with Gigya to ensure that their widgets are actually installed by a targeted group of users in a timeframe that aligns with an overarching campaign.”

“Our Kimberly-Clark Room-A-Day Giveaway widget achieved thousands of installs to top Social Networking sites through the Gigya Ad Network, and we were able to coordinate those installs with the launch of the sweepstakes and cross-media campaign.” said Joanna Peña-Bickley, Vice President Interactive, TracyLocke, a division of Omnicom. “With such a huge investment in our widget creative and TV and web promotional campaign, we were delighted to have a partner like Gigya to help us execute flawlessly. Now that we can buy widget installs like any other interactive ad inventory, specifying both flighting and budget, we plan on using Gigya as a way to effectively leverage social media in all our innovative campaigns.”

“The pay for performance approach is very attractive, and the Gigya Ad Network delivered the promised number of widget installs in our agreed-upon timeframe,” said David Bell, Director Digital Marketing, Jive Records, a division of Sony BMG. “Creating a compelling widget is important, but knowing how well the end user receives and interacts with it determines your success.  Gigya's reporting is fantastic in that it provides this required deep view into the performance of my widgets.”

In addition to its solutions for widget distribution and tracking, Gigya makes a full suite of widget services available to its advertising clients through its Social Media Marketing Platform, including widget design, development, hosting, viral promotion and tracking. Gigya’s Wildfire technology allows advertisers to centralize the tracking of all their widget initiatives in a single dashboard, and compare viral distribution patterns by creative execution and source. The technology promotes viral distribution by allowing users to quickly and easily grab and share the widgets they want through social networks, blogs, email and bookmarking sites.

Gigya Promotes Your Widgets on Netvibes! + Update

Dear Gigya Partner,

Gigya was selected to be one of the few to feature a widget gallery on Netvibes, one of the largest personal homepage platforms with millions of users. The gallery will feature selected widgets which we will showcase.

We are reaching out to our partners to offer you to present your widgets on this gallery. The main advantage is that Netvibes users are an incremental audience that will be exposed to your widgets. Netvibes users usually look for widgets in the Netvibes gallery and not elsewhere, so it's a great opportunity to expose your brand. All links on the widgets will go back to your site. We see this as a part of the service to our partners to help promote your widgets via such galleries.

Initially, we can only present widgets that do not need customization. Note that for many widgets you can probably do the customization for the user (colors, fonts, etc) and send us just one version which we will present in the gallery. We apologize for the urgency, but if you would like to participate please send the necessary information (see below) of up to 10 widgets to partners@gigya-inc.com by Tuesday this week. Yes, this is two days from today… there is a tight deadline on the launch of the gallery.

Information for submitting a widget for Gigya's Netvibes Gallery:
1. The URL of your SWF file (it can include parameters)
2. Widget main language
3. Title for widget
4. Widget short description
5. A gif/jpg/png thumbnail of widget - width=280px (important to keep this width)
6. Tags

In the second phase we will also be able to showcase widgets that should be customized from your site. We will send an update when that will be available. In your email please let us know if you wish to take part in the 2nd phase.
In addition, we are happy to update you with new features we recently released. Partners who already switched to our Flash interface enjoy these updates without the need to make any code changes. We encourage partners who still use our old version to switch over. The advantages are significant (faster, better UI, more features, real-time reports) and the effort to switch is minimal (see instructions at the end).

What's new?
1. Orkut – The 3rd biggest network worldwide opened for embeddable code and Gigya quickly responded to allow quick posting for this network. We now support quick posting to 19 destinations (in the Flash version only):
MySpace, Friendster, Facebook, Tagged, Blogger, Hi5, Freewebs, Xanga, LiveJournal, BlackPlanet, MyYearBook, Piczo, Wordpress, Typepad, Multiply, iGoogle, Netvibes, PageFlakes, and now also Orkut.

2. Advanced configuration tool – we have released a comprehensive configuration tool that lets you control every design element and preview it on the spot. You can even import your current configuration code, make changes and export the code to reuse it on your site or within your widget.

3. Support for Spanish and Portuguese – You can turn the Wildfire UI to be in either of these languages by adding a special parameter (see our API for more info). We will make it in next version so that Wildfire auto-detects the user computer language and adjusts.

4. Raw reports data download URL – You can now download your raw reporting data from a specific URL by providing your Gigya username and password as parameters (see our API for more info).

How to upgrade to the Flash interface?
1. In your current Wildfire code, change the file name of the Wildfire JS from: wfapi.js to: wfapiV2.js
2. Sign up for an account on our new site at www.gigya.com and go to the Account Settings page. On this page you'll find your PartnerID. Place this ID in the Wildfire code, instead of your PARTNERNAME, which you have placed there before (see example below).
3. Optional - Hide your textarea (or text box) that presents users with your embed code. To do that, simply add in your textarea tag: STYLE="DISPLAY:NONE". Users will grab code from the Wildfire text box and you will get full tracking on any post done from your site. Please note that if you wish to increase the size of the Wildfire text box, you may simply increase the size of Wildifre, and the text box will get larger.
4. Once you have that done, just login to Gigya.com and see your widget stats, through the My Reports link.

If you need any help with the upgrade, please contact us at: partners@gigya-inc.com

Thanks for choosing with Gigya!

Best,
Eyal Magen
CEO, Gigya

Example - Changing PARTNERNAME to your PartnerID:
1. For the full Wildfire UI:

Before: Wildfire.initPost(" XYZ.COM", "divWildfirePost", 400, 230, pconf);
After: Wildfire.initPost("1541", "divWildfirePost", 400, 230, pconf);
2. For the Wildfire button:
Before: <script src=" http://cdn.gigya.com/wildfire/JS/WFButton.js?flash=1&module=post&cid=TEXTAREA_ID&partner=XYZ.COM"></script>
After: <script src=" http://cdn.gigya.com/wildfire/JS/WFButton.js?flash=1&module=post&cid=TEXTAREA_ID&partner=1541"></script>

Online reports, Flash based interface and more!

Gigya hasjust released a new version of Wildfire, which includes online reports as well as some other great stuff. This update requires a small change on your end and below you’ll find details in the “How to upgrade” section.

What’s new?

1. New Flash-based interface – The Flash interface has several advantages:
    a. Lighter - So it loads quickly.
    b. Improved UI - We now show the names and icons of the social networks. This change helps users to easily find the destination where they wish to post.
    c. Code text box - We now offer a text box within the interface for users to grab your code. This allows us to deliver online reports on both quick and manual posts. When switching to this new version, you can simply hide your own text box (don't remove it, since Wildfire takes the code from there), so users grab code from Wildfire. If you do not wish to include a text box within Wildfire, you can easily remove it through the Wildfire customization page.
    d. CDN hosting - The version is hosted on CDN (Content Delivery Network) servers, which provide optimal up time and redundancy.
2. Online reports – Together with the Flash-based version, you can now get online reports on a variety of metrics such as: number of posted widgets per network, widgets views on profiles or stickiness of widgets on profiles. These stats can be reported using your widget IDs.
3. Piczo – Users can now quick post also to their Piczo accounts.

How to Upgrade?

To do that, simply add in your textarea tag: STYLE=”DISPLAY:NONE”. Users will grab code from the Wildfire text box and you will get full tracking on any post done from your site. Please note that if you wish to increase the size of the Wildfire text box, you may simply increase the size of Wildifre, and the text box will get larger.

Gigya Launches Wildfire for Facebook Apps

A new version was released today with a couple of exciting updates.

Version 1.1.3 Updates:

1. Support for Facebook application platform – We developed a dedicated application on the Facebook platform, which will save partners significant time and resources. With a single click, visitors can post videos, slide shows, music, games or widgets directly to Facebook.

With this application, it is possible to post a full content item (Flash, image or HTML) on the actual user profile on Facebook.

Partners do not need to change anything to get this functionality. Wildfire uses the same HTML you provide and posts it on Facebook.

We also have a solution for sites who do have a dedicated Facebook application.

2. Friendster Media section – recently Friendster added a new section to the profile called “Media”. This section is not limited in the number of characters it can hold. Previously, posting to Friendster resulted in many cases in an overflow of sections, since other sections are limited in size. Wildfire defaults now to the Media section on Friendster to avoid overflow as much as possible.

Wildfire auto-posting – support for Blogger, Typepad, Tagged and LiveJournal!

We are excited to update you about new features from Gigya. If Wildfire is already set on your site, the update takes place automatically. Just sit back and watch Wildfire do more auto postings for you!

Version 1.0.18 Updates:

1. Blogger, Typepad, Tagged & LiveJournal support – Together with these 4 additional networks, Wildfire now supports auto posting to top ten networks!

2. Wildfire button – We now offer an even simpler way to add Wildfire to your site. Just add the Wildfire button and it will open a small window where we will take care of the rest. To grab the button one-line code click here and scroll down.

Case study: http://www.testriffic.com – This hugely popular tests/quizzes site is featured to stress the importance of presenting the embed item on the page that includes the code & Wildfire. Some sites send the user to the code page after showing the content. This reduces the incentive to post. Showing the content item near the code & Wildfire increases the number of postings.

This newsletter is also posted on our blog. Please feel free to comment there or email us at partnersupport@gigya.com with any feedback, questions or suggestions.

Thanks for working with Wildfire and Gigya!

Wildfire Updates, Helpful Tips and a Case Study

We are excited to bring you our first newsletter for the Wildfire auto posting tool. Wildfire launched on April 8th and already is used by sites with a combined user count of over 25m! The newsletter will have 3 sections: Updates, a Helpful tip and a Case study. We know you are busy so we’ll keep it short and super useful :)

Version 1.0.17 Updates:

1. Post a MySpace bulletin - a powerful feature that increases virality. We added a simple checkbox that enables users to post a bulletin when posting your content on their page. Bulletins are personal messages which are not displayed on the user profile (like comments). When users check the “post bulletin” check box, Wildfire will post a bulletin with a subject and body of your choice to all of the user’s friends (no worry, we defined a decent default message). For more info please consult our API.

2. Facebook support – Wildfire users can now auto post to Facebook, which is now the 2nd largest social network. Please note that unless you adjust your site to fit the Facebook requirements, the HTML that will be posted will be a link to your content page. If you want your content unit to be embedded, please refer to: http://www.facebook.com/share_partners.php and read “Making Sure the Preview Works”.

  1. On Friday, April 19th, MySpace changed the name of one of their fields. Immediately after noticing this we released a fix that handled this change.

Helpful tip! Customize Wildfire – Did you know that you can easily change the colors and fonts within Wildfire to fit your site design? Click here to download the API document for more information.

Case study: www.zingfu.com – We are featuring this site since it demonstrates a recommended practice - locating Wildfire just before the embeddable code. Placing Wildfire in this location increases the number of total posts of your content substantially.

That’s all for this letter! This newsletter is also posted on our blog. Please feel free to comment there or email us at partersupport (at) gigya.com with any feedback, questions or suggestions.

Thanks for working with Wildfire and Gigya!

Best,

Eyal Magen
